What is the penalty for skipping jury duty?

I recently received a letter in the mail stating that I need to do jury duty. Along with the letter came a questionnaire to fill out or an excuse form if I decide there's a reason I can't do it. To make a long story short I have a very valid reason for not being able to do it and I included documents verifying this reason. However, the reason was not listed on the excuse form as one of the accepted excuses. In the event that I can't get out of it, what is the penalty for skipping?

What is the penalty for skipping jury duty?
death by hanging........
Reply:you'll be handcuffed and forced to listen to David Bowie
Reply:The worst thing possible: MORE JURY DUTY
Reply:You'll receive a pretty hefty fine. Possibly over $2,000 depending on which state you live in.
Reply:You go directly to jail

You do not pass GO

You do not collect $200

But they may collect $200 from you
Reply:A bench warrant for your arrest will be issued by the judge. You will be arrested and brought before the court. You are not permitted to ignore a summons issued by a court of law.

You cannot skip jury duty. You must appear.

Now, once you have appeared, they may dismiss you and let you go. But, you cannot just not show up.

It is your civic duty and responsibility to serve jury duty. We are guaranteed a "jury of our peers" when brought before the court. You are a "peer". If everyone ducked out, our justice system would resemble China or other socialist/communist countries where those in charge decide your guilt or innocence.
Reply:You'll be held in contempt of court, and likely ordered to pay a pretty hefty fine. Chances are, you won't be chosen to serve on the jury because they call a ton of people, but if you are, remember it's part of the price you pay for living in a country that defends your life and rights.

I hope this works out in a way acceptable for all parties.
Reply:When asked questions always answer pro-police and most likely the defense won't pick you.
Reply:depends on the state you live in
Reply:jail time and/or fines

just be a VERY bad candidate, be racist, be sexist. just be upfront about bad things and they CAN'T consider you
Reply:the electric chair at the very least
Reply:you will get a big fine,,,,,,,,,in our country you will

so i would imagine in yours you would too
Reply:Depending on the state you live in, and the county... and whether it is district or circuit court... you should call them and if need be, show up. If your reason is valid, they'll let you off.
