What is the internet reliability in the medical research?

What is the difference when i do a questionnaire on the internet in comparason to a sample directly from the population?

Is the internet reliable?

What is the internet reliability in the medical research?
You have to consider your population. If you survey people on the internet, you must realize that the population you're sampling from are the population likely to use the internet. Young and tech-savvy. Who gets left out? Low income people without regular computer access, older adults who rarely use the computer. Is it okay to leave these people out? Maybe. It depends on what your survey is about. If it's about who used iPods, then it might be okay to sample internet users. If it's about Medicare, then it would be a poor sample because most people on Medicare don't use the internet frequently.

Hope this helps!
Reply:As with any experiment, it should be random. If you come into Answers and ask all the math and science people to take a survey on how much they know, it may not be as effective as doing it outside the grocery store. But make sure your grocery store isn't right by the university science building....
