Who can help me out by filling out a short questionnaire?

Hello there,

I'm currently in my last phases of my final thesis, and I'm looking for people who would like to help me out. My thesis topic involves whether and how much an individual's attitude changes when it receives external information (online and offline) by another invididual (expert or peer). It is a fairly simple questionnaire, and will only take about 3-5 minutes. As a reward you can leave your e-mail address to enter a prize draw of 3 times 10 USD/EUR Cash (this will be officially done via the university).

The link to the questionnaire: www.lynck.nl/q.htm

The quesionnaire is in English, and everyone can enter.

I would like to thank every respondent in advance. You've been of great help.

Who can help me out by filling out a short questionnaire?
Hi Rob, welcome to Yahoo! Answers, I see you have started participating since 05 June.

Now rule of the game. I understand that this is not the right forum to post something to ask people to come to your site for answering question and offering reward or asking for emails.

Plz refrain from all this.

I Signed some Minor papers but i wasnt sworn in Can i change by Military Branch Decision?

I signed some papers for the Army just little questionnaires like have i been arrested and or do i have any medical problems stuff like that. I want to know if i can still change my decision on which branch i wish to join? I haven't been to MEPS for anything but testing cause i live literally like 3 miles away from the place. I havn't signed a contract either and i wasnt sworn in cause technically im still 5 pounds over weight. So can i still politly call my recruiter and tell him thanks for everything but the army isn't right for me now.

I Signed some Minor papers but i wasnt sworn in Can i change by Military Branch Decision?
Yes, as long as you havent sign the contract, or been sworn in, just tell the recruiter no thanks, and find the branch that suits you.
Reply:Even if you HAVE been sworn in, you can cancel your DEP contract anytime before you actually ship out.

"The Army Recruiting regulations state that recruiters will not threaten, coerce, manipulate, or intimidate DEP members, nor may they obstruct separation requests. (USAREC Reg 601-56, 3-1c). The Navy Regulations state, threatening DEP member with possible disciplinary actions for failing to enlist or coercing DEP members to fulfill their contractual [sic] obligations is inconsistent with the concept of the all-volunteer force (COMNAVCRUITCOMIST 1130.8F, 6A-6, Note 1). The Marines don't have this clear language prohibiting harassment, but do make it clear that the individual can leave the DEP. Their Recruiting Regulations, under Desire for Release or Intent Not to Report state, If the individual insists on being released from the enlistment, the individual will be discharged . (MCO P1100.72C, 4301, 3d(2))."

...And if you haven't even sworn in yet, just tell your recruiter you're not interested.

What method of analysis should I employ in testing my hypothesis?

This is my first experience in data collection using standardized questionnaires. I actually want to investigate if life satisfaction is positively related to experience of gratitude. I have 50 respondents. I have tabulated their scores already. Should I use the Correlation Coeffecient (Pearson) as my method of analysis to get the answer to my hypothesis?

What method of analysis should I employ in testing my hypothesis?
As long as you're not trying to prove that one causes the other, a simple correlational analysis will let you see if there is a positive or negative relation. And yes, by simple I mean calculating the Pearson correlation coefficient.
Reply:yes, any time you are looking for a relationship between two variables you should use the correlation coefficient.
Reply:You kind of got the the idea already. but your hypothesis should be the start of what you have just explained here. I can give you example of a hypothesis for your experiment. Well, you know what after re-reading your explanation again. Your second sentence already is your hypothesis, only you worded it in a question. Let us know what your conclusion is. We'll gladly want to hear from you. but you know something, I think your data you collected would give you an inference of close to +1 once you're done with your calculations. It's obvious too that there'll be a positive correlation, but that is to be expected. Good enough, yes?
Reply:sure.

my brain hurts- your so smart already

Why would my boyfriend secretly fill out a dating questionnaire behind my back?

He said he was only curious, but the details of the questions and his answers to them were pretty precise. Sadly, it appears he's looking for someone totally unlike me. Should I leave him?

Why would my boyfriend secretly fill out a dating questionnaire behind my back?
give him his moment of inspiration...if he's really for you you shouldn't be worried at all
Reply:because he is a jerk that is why....

and i agree with the other answers...leave him.....
Reply:Hello, wake up
Reply:How do you feel about it? I personally can't give advice to someone I don't know and I don't know the details of the relationship. However, I am seeing someone and love him, we are best friends and totally have an honest relationship. If I found he was doing that, I would talk with him, and we would have to go from there. I trust this guy though, and he would tell me like it is. I would be hurt and probably not want to risk any more pain. Sorry about your hurt. Good luck to ya. I have had a few relationships that really did me in, but I have learned not to base my self opinion on a guy.
Reply:Because he is probably looking for someone else. Kick him to the curb! You deserve better!
Reply:he's looking around
Reply:you bet your sweet a$% you should leave his sorry a%26amp;*..the sooner the better..good luck
Reply:Yes, please leave him. There are more males out there worth caring for. If he did that to you now, he will do it again.
Reply:Maybe he just wanted to see how compatible the two of you are. If you're not compatible, it won't work out in the long run anyway. It may seem exciting at first to find someone so different from you, but in the long run, it does NOT make for a good relationship.

If you're not happy, move on. Find someone you REALLY love and who REALLY loves you. Take your time. As Kenny Loggins sang:

Wait a little while to welcome what you're after.

Give it the time to find its way to you.

As soon as you no longer try,

You'll turn and find it standing by your side.

Just forget it.

If you let it,

It'll come to you.

Try playing "Wait a Little While" from his Nightwatch album and listen carefully to all the words. Very wise and truthful words. I just found out that his ex-wife, Eva Ein(sp) wrote the words. She must be a very impressive lady. I wonder what happened between them?

Cal-el
Reply:He is weird, filling out something and then leaving it around for you to see. Run, honey, run and don't look back.
Reply:There is really no need to leave him, he will be leaving you in no time at all.

My advice, fill out your own dating questionnaire.
Reply:he is not committed to you, dump him!!!

Depends on how subjects were recruited, how many subjects were in the original sample, and why they were eliminated.

How to get sexual orientation on the Census questionnaire?

I emailed the Customer Service Center at the Census Bureau asking what would be the procedure to add Sexual Orientation in the demographics section (alongside race, sex, age, marital status) of the Census questionaire.

Robert Clair of the Census Bureau replied to me that it won't ever happen because "behavioral or preference issues are not really the domain or purpose of the decennial census program."

He suggested I write to my Congressional representatives and to the US Office of Management and Budget.

Wow. Sexual orientation is not included because the Census Bureau considers being homo a choice.

Any ideas of what to do in addition to contacting the Senators and Reps and the US Office of Management and Budget?

How to get sexual orientation on the Census questionnaire?
I think that's a great idea. Good luck. Check with LAMBDA Legal
Reply:lol oh god.
Reply:Well, I'd have to disagree, it does affect demographics, duh to the stupid Census Bureau man. Get more people to contact this Mr. Clair, maybe they will consider it. Basically he said whatever he had to get you to shut up (Quite frankly, the government doesn't care about "we the people" --shocking--) More people contacting him would make a difference.
Reply:I think they shouldn't include it. Its my business whether I like girls or not.
Reply:Actually. That's NOT a bad idea.

And Mr. Census man is kinda naive if he thinks it doesn't matter in census reports. It COULD have an impact on declining population rates, considering most homosexuals 1) dont register as "married", and 2) don't produce children. This has a definite impact on other demographic categories. Like "single". Well..perhaps a homosexual person isn't "single" but that's their only option on a census form. It would provide for more accurate representation.

I would definitely support you in finding out how to change this. This IS actually important.

Short questionnaire for people who own a car?

This product does NOT exsist, it is simply a hypothetical product.

This product is a revolutionary car windshield, designed to let you see as clear as day, even at night. It would literally look as if it was daylight, in the dead of night.

1) Would you buy this product? Yes or No

2) How much extra would you be willing to pay, to add this feature to your current car?

3) What are some of the advantages you would enjoy with this product?

4) If this was an option on a brand new vehicle, how much do you think it should cost?

5) Should it be offered just for the windshield, or all of the windows?

6) How much extra would you be willing to pay to upgrade all the windows in a new car?

Short questionnaire for people who own a car?
1. Yes

2. $500 - $1000

6. $500 - $1000
Reply:1) Would you buy this product? Yes

2) How much extra would you be willing to pay, to add this feature to your current car? $250.00

3) What are some of the advantages you would enjoy with this product? To actually be able to see as though it was day to me is the advantage in itself.

4) If this was an option on a brand new vehicle, how much do you think it should cost? From the dealership they would more than likely charge you an extra $1000.00 to $1500.00

5) Should it be offered just for the windshield, or all of the windows? All

As a business owner, would I be required to answer a questionnaire provided by the AQMD?

An Air Quality Inspector came by with a questionaire that he was *requiring* answers for. It included questions about our annual sales and what our sources are for some of the products we sell.

He wouldn't let us photo copy the form because he said it was a confidential document but he did allow us to write down the questions.

What should we do?

As a business owner, would I be required to answer a questionnaire provided by the AQMD?
As a business owner, I would contact the EPA and ask if this is necessary. Did this inspector actually conduct an inspection of your business? If so, what were his findings? Are you compliant or do you need to make improvements?

We have EPA inspectors who come in annually to see if we are in compliance. Not one of them has ever asked about our annual sales or for a list of our vendors.

Please keep us posted.
Reply:Find out if you're legally required. If so, do this stupid act and if not, tell him to go to heck.

I'm willing to bet that he's just trying to intimidate you and it's not required. Be certain that you stand up for your rights.

How do you know if your child is bipolar....?

The doctors give lists of intese questionnaires and a 10 year old cannot give proper answers. Is the parent responsible to answer for the child? Do psychiatrists have other methods of diagnosing?

How do you know if your child is bipolar....?
You may not have to answer for your child, but you may want to help them complete the questionnaires of understand the questions. You can also comment on any behavior that you've observed. Meaning, we wouldn't expect you to say, "He's been feeling depressed" because you can't really know that. But you can say, "He had an outburst and punched a hole in the wall."

Parents who suspect that their child has bipolar disorder (or any psychiatric illness) should take daily notes of their child's mood, behavior, sleep patterns, unusual events, and statements by the child of concern to the parents. Share these notes with the doctor making the evaluation and with the doctor who eventually treats your child. Some parents fax or e-mail a copy of their notes to the doctor before each appointment.

Because children with bipolar disorder can be charming and charismatic during an appointment, they initially may appear to a professional to be functioning well. Therefore, a good evaluation takes at least two appointments and includes a detailed family history.

As far as the symptoms of bipolar in a child, the illness may look different in children than it does in adults. Children usually have an ongoing, continuous mood disturbance that is a mix of mania and depression. This rapid and severe cycling between moods produces chronic irritability and few clear periods of wellness between episodes.

Behaviors reported by parents in children diagnosed with bipolar disorder may include:

an expansive or irritable mood

extreme sadness or lack of interest in play

rapidly changing moods lasting a few hours to a few days

explosive, lengthy, and often destructive rages

separation anxiety

defiance of authority

hyperactivity, agitation, and distractibility

sleeping little or, alternatively, sleeping too much

bed wetting and night terrors

strong and frequent cravings, often for carbohydrates and sweets

excessive involvement in multiple projects and activities

impaired judgment, impulsivity, racing thoughts, and pressure to keep talking

dare-devil behaviors (such as jumping out of moving cars or off roofs)

inappropriate or precocious sexual behavior

delusions and hallucinations

grandiose belief in own abilities that defy the laws of logic (ability to fly, for example)
Reply:How can you answer for the child if you are not the one being asked the questions? You would be answering what you THINK is the right answer but not necessarily IS. What do you mean by the comment 'a ten year old cannot give proper answers' I know a lot of clever 10 year olds who speak well. I would leave it up to someone in mental health to diagnose your child, if you are unhappy with the way doctor's diagnose. However you should never assume a child has a disorder, I find it horrific that so many children are diagnosed with this that and the other yet have really nothing wrong with them. Only recently have doctors started saying that not all people who hear voices have a mental problem. What makes you believe your child may have bipolar disorder?
Reply:Bipolar disorder is intense mood swings. If you notice your child is depressed or goes off to be by his/her self at times and at other times is hyper or manic, that's bipolar. There are fantastic meds out today. You know your child best, just tell the doc how your child behaves. Good luck.
Reply:You need to talk to a Pediatric psychiatrist. There are so many different things that can be going on with a child...and don't be afraid to get more than one opinion!! Best wishes %26amp; good luck.
Reply:Bipolar: Psychology Relating to a major affective disorder that is characterized by episodes of mania and depression.

It is pretty simple.

Does your kid go from one extreme to the other? I mean is the child really happy excited, then go straight to not saying anything and closed off?

Does there seem to be no middle-ground? Just Highs and Lows?
Reply:I'm not to sure what types of tests they do to make a diagnosis. Also, i understand that many are hesitant about testing/diagnosing, young children.

as far as the questionnaire, (ask dr of course,) Iwouldnt think they expect a ten y.o. to be capable of answering ALL of the things that they are asking, (many adults are not capable). So you GO FROM THERE!

Good Luck!

Reply:I have stopped in the dim and distant past. Now, I acknowledge the person but always decline to answer their questions.
Reply:I do, but only because I'm too polite to walk on by! I always feel bad for them when they are being ignored!
Reply:No because the truth is I never have time to stop and answer.
Reply:i did once as i had time to spare but the lady said it would take 20mins and i didnt have that much time! so i dont know i just walk past or say i am busy
Reply:heres a good one for you and it gets anyone that comes up to you in the street wanting your time on any sort of level, when you notice the person walking towards you, even if you dont, if they come up to you and stop you just say " no thanks i have a dog" and they will get confused, but by the time they have realised that, your already half way up the street to the place you want to go =)

enjoy

and to answer the question ... no :P i do either the above, or if its someone handing out flyers or something, put your hand out, then when they let go of the flyer, move your hand, and it will fall, its sick, but it works =) and gets you a wee laugh if your bored =)
Reply:yep, always do. Some people may think it's a waste of time, but that's how you get a lot of GREAT demographic info. I'd rather tell someone my honest opinion or my honest views for a questionnaire than have to tell someone (like in a debate) who may not agree with me, then THEY try to shove THEIR views down my throat!! That's when I shove my foot up someone's A**!!!!

Can you help me by answering a short questionnaire on recycling?

If you could answer this I could be very appreciative :)

What age group do you fall in? 10- 20 21-30 31-40 41-50 50+

Do you understand why recycling is important?

Do your family recycle? - Why?

If you recycle, how long have you been doing so for?

How do you think we can influence people to recycle?

What are the recycling procedures in your local area?

Do you think people should be making more of an effort to recycle?

Any additional comments?

Thanks :)

Can you help me by answering a short questionnaire on recycling?
Good luck on your project--here are my answers :)

1) 21-30

2) Yes. Recycling is important because it conserves our natural resources. Not only the resources which actually make-up the material (i.e., the oil in the plastic container), but it also reduces the environmental impacts which indirectly result from resource extraction (i.e. drilling for oil, refining the oil, etc.). Reducing and reusing things are always better than recycling them, but recycling them is definitely better than just throwing them in a big heap (read: landfill) and covering it up for the next 100 years.

3) Yes, we do...see reasons above.

4) We've been recycling for years--my husband grew up recycling, as did I; we both recycled throughout college, and after we got married. If you need a number, I'd guestimate ~15 years

5) For a college paper/project, I surveyed students at Arizona State about the on-campus recycling program. The most clear result was that people will do it if it is *convenient*. Recycling bins must be prominently positioned and frequent in number (i.e. paired alongside every trash can). Although they understand in general that recycling is "good", they will not go out of their way (typically) to recycle stuff.

6) In Houston, it's not set up very well (and gee, they have low participation rates, I wonder why)...if you live in a neighborhood, you have to get your neighborhood on a list before the city will initiate recycling service in your area. Otherwise, you have to drop recyclables off at community centers, which are not always conveniently located. On the plus side, they did recently help initiate a partnership between our local grocery store (HEB), Keep Houston Beautiful, and a disposal company to place bins in the grocery store parking lots--this seems to be very popular so far. (note: they made it MORE CONVENIENT!) As far as what you can recycle, Houston takes most everything, depending on which community drop-off point you have (i.e. some take e-waste, others don't), but a notable exception is chipboard (i.e. cereal boxes). See: http://www.houstontx.gov/solidwaste/recy...

As for us, we have to go to a community drop-off because the city of Houston will not serve apartment complexes.

7) Absolutely--the amount of waste in our country is disgusting to me. My husband and I joke that with all the household goods we've seen thrown into the dumpsters around our complex, we could've furnished our entire apartment with it. We've personally saved books, tables, (fake) floral arrangements, and a pet carrier from the trash, among other items.

8) Additional comments...although I'm not confident that this would translate into higher recycling rates, I think it's extremely important that the general level of awareness is raised about what exactly recycling benefits (and what it doesn't)...as noted above, recycling isn't only about conserving glass, aluminum, trees, etc. It's benefits ripple way, way beyond it through the product's "life cycle" (the chain of events that leads from a product's extraction, manufacture, transport, use, and disposal). For example, let's say I recycle an aluminum can. Most people will get the idea that they have saved X amount of aluminum from being dumped in a landfill, and instead it is being redirected to say, another aluminum can. But what does that really mean? It means the following:

a) X amount of aluminum ore does not have to be mined, therefore leading to reduced mining impacts (reduction to health risks for miners, reduction in acid mine drainage, reduction in land clearing (which conserves habitat, improves water quality, reduces greenhouse gases, etc.), reduction in air pollution from mining equipment)

b) X amount of aluminum ore that does not have to be (raw) processed (reduction in energy consumption (which leads to reduction in air pollution, water usage, etc.), reduction in air pollution from mine processing facilities, reduction in solid waste ore, etc.)

c) a likely reduction in transport (air pollution, fuel usage) to the product manufacturer because it is likely the recycling facility will be closer to the manufacturer than the mine will.

d) a reduction in landfill usage, which translates to reduced water pollution and soil contamination, and preservation of land for other types of uses.

On the other hand, most people also don't realize that recycling is not in and of itself an "environmentally friendly" process either...recycling also consumes energy, produces air pollution, consumes water resources, etc. That's why reducing and reusing products is better than recycling them. Still, on the whole, recycling is better than just throwing products away.

I think if people were more cognizant of the complexities and interrelatedness of resource management and usage (i.e. how a product is made, how a resource is extracted--the whole life cycle), and how recycling helps make this "greener", then perhaps there would be a greater sense of urgency on the part of the public to do so more often and more effectively. That's my hope, anyway, for what it's worth :)

yes!!

Yes, I want to have children some day and I want them to live as we do. Not to have to stay inside on certain days because of the sum or smog, acid rain things like that. The earth has given so much to us we need to give back.

I think the truth is always bets but you have to get the message to peolpe in a way they can understad. Like TV, every one watches so start showing comercials that show what is happening. Real images of over full land fills and what these land fills are doing to peoples health.

The give you a bucket you can use it if you like. pick it up on trash day.

YES!! I like out side of dallas tx. I know if FT Worth (TX) that if you throw glass bottles in your trash can you get a fine of about $200.00. That would definatly get some peoples attention!!

Thanks for asking. What are you doing with this survey??
Reply:10-20, yes, yes because we know its good for the environment, for as long as we could do it, intiatives provided by the local government, I'm a college student so I don't know the local stuff where I go to schoo, yes.

2.Yes

3.Yes - responsible thing to do

4.At least 15 years, hardcore

5.Make it mandatory, social peer pressure, and stop giving tax breaks to corporations that make materials out of virgin sources. There is no manditory recycling in eastern Colorado.

6.We compost, I also turn mixed paper into mulch (because no one will take it) and then we pay for 1 and 2 plastic, metal and glass to be recycled.

7.Yes

8.People are generally lazy or just don't give a damn unless they think it is going to cost them or "whats in it for me" mentality needs to change or the future is going to be in a world of hurt. Refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle in that order.
Reply:I am 33, and graduated with an Ecology degree.

I do understand why recycling is important.

Yes, I recycle - It is mandatory in our area.

Have recycled since about 2001.

To influence people, it must be made easy. The more difficult it is and the more "rules" that go along with it, the less people will want to do it.

In my area, all plastic, glass, and paper gets recycled. We just put everything in one blue bin and the trash men pick it up on Fridays.

I do think people should make more of an effort, but like I said above... it must be made easy for people to do so. Most people dont like any sort of change and they really oppose being told what to do.

It would be much easier to make a good public sale for recycling if it was more profitable and/or efficient.

-yes, we need to save the earth, she's taxed to the max

-yes, we recycle to help save precious resources and to limit our carbon footprint

-1 year so far, my new year's resolution last year was to become green! so far so good!

-awareness, peole don't realize that they impact the earth one water bottle at a time!

-very good, they take everything; magazines, newspapers, cans, plastics, cardboard but we need to start composting and reusing more though!

-i think that now is a really good time in recycling because it's everywhere now. Living with Ed and other shows have helped us to realize the impact that we make. i think people turned a blind eye to it because it wasn't in their face all the time. But global warming and weird weather make the news nightly now, you can't ignore it anymore!

-start small, my goal last year was to learn about a different recycling product that they took in our area a week. learn everything about it and find where i was using it and how to recycle it properly. now it's like second nature to me. now i am moving on to bigger goals, like eco-proofing my house! it does seem like there are so many other things that i could be doing but by taking it one task at a time i am slowly getting in the groove of things and informing and educating others. baby steps, always remember baby steps!! good luck!!
Reply:I am in age 21-30 group and I am former student of High School for Environmental Studies and I attend Recycling Club.

Reason recycling is very important issue are:

1. Reduce the garbage.

2. Helping the environmental and endangered species.

In my former school, Recycling Club do visit to each classroom and do presentation why Recycling is important. We also make poster or sign. Custodian had screw the lid on paper recycle bin (usually white or green), and so only paper can be fit (but not that garbage).

3. When I was in school, after school, Recycling Club team

will collect lots of paper or bottles/cans without lid and take out to street where Sanitation Department takes it to recycle.

4. Yes, people really need to stop being lazy and care about environmental because Recycling is most important project.
Reply:I am 40. Recycling is of utmost importance to the environment and future generations. Yes, we recycle because I feel strongly that our society is far too disposable and selfish in regards to the stuff we consume. I've been recycling since 1990. Pick up your friends stuff for them if they aren't inclined. Educate the elementary kids, jr. high and especially high schoolers who will soon be in charge of their own households. My town of Hot Springs, AR recycles only aluminum cans, corrugated cardboard, and newspaper. Garland County also recycles steel cans, 1 and 2 plastic and white office paper. The City just stopped recycling clear glass last week. Yes, the community at large are lazy, litterbugs with apparently no conscious in regards to trash. I think cities should follow the models in San Francisco that imposes fines on those consumers NOT recycling. Unfortunately, the way to Americans minds, by and large, is through their pocketbooks.
Reply:I am in the 21-30 yrs age group

I know recycling is important because it minimizes the amount of new material we need to make from our natural resources.

I recycle religiously, My family tries as much as they can.. Why? It cuts down on garbage and saves money on garbage tags.

We could influence people to recylce by bringing our overflowing landfills to their attention.

In my area, a recycling truck comes at 6am once a week, we also have a recycling depot so we can drop off our own recycling.

I agree that people should make more of an effort to recycle, even though some people think recycling is a waste of time and creates MORE pollution than it saves (recycling trucks, the cleaning and melting down procedures)

Thanks for the awesome quesitonaire!
Reply:41- 50 yes recycleing is important to conserve our resources. Yes we recycle, for the above reasons. I have been recycleing since I was in my 20's. Information is the best incluence. There are bins placed in my comunity and many services for the same. Yes on makeing more of a effort, again information is the best way to increase that.
Reply:-i'm 10-20

-yes. becuase it's good for the environment, and it costs less money to reuse something than to build somethign from scratch, hence lower prices

-my family has been for years

-telling them how it effects the environment and the economy

-i'm not sure, my parents take care of the recycling for our family

-yes

-nope
Reply:I am in my late 50s and have been recycling for years. My grown up children have also been re-cycling for ages to such an extent that my daughter sometimes wishes she could have something new for a change. Many people are still happy to keep buying new and trashing their old stuff and rubbish mountains still carry on growing. I am working for a renewables company and their ethics strongly influence all staff.

I believe you can influence people by pointing out that the things that you pushing into your bin will end up as backfill and ultimately in someone else's back garden with all the gases etc that they emit not to mention all the animals, fish and birds who are killed by the rubbish.

Re-cyling in this part of central Scotland is good and getting better all the time but we could all still make the effort to find of way of re-cycling different types of plastic like the tops of milk containers. However, because I live in the countryside I have to drive to the re-cycling centre as there is no collection, not very ecological!
Reply:---- 31 to 40

---- Yes in some respects it is, however it can cost more and be more harmful to the environment to recycle some materials as transport and electricity cost cause more problems with pollution.

---- Yes, only items which don't have an impact on the environment.

---- It should start with manufacturing.

---- Green bin for food, paper, cardboard, and anything else than can degrade quickly and be used to make compost.

Black bin for everything else.

----- Not particularly

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a questionnaire to collect data?
look at the person sat next to you's work?!?!
Reply:hehehe Report Abuse

Reply:you may read it in statistics books.
Reply:Advantages: Can get them to self-complete. Will always be asking the same questions. Can think about how you plan to analyse data and word questions accordingly. Can also conduct surveys as semi-structured interviews. Can post out large numbers at once.

Disadvantages: Some of them aren't developed for the target audience (eg. older people need shorter questions). Self-completed surveys - participants may misunderstand the questions. Limits the answers that people can give.

Things like that.
Reply:Advantages:

You get a diverse range of answers from a broad section of the community.

You can ask open or closed questions.

You have a written record of people's responses.

Disadvantages:

Some people are not honest with their answers.

Some people may not fully understand some of the questions.

Some people may leave blank spaces or write down silly answers.

People can choose not to fill in your questionnaire.
Reply:This sounds as an assignment. Why not visit the Library and go through any Statistics Textbooks and go to the pages that deal with date collection methods., You will find more authentic answers there.
Reply:making sure that your questions are non-bias or do not lead the taker to a conclusion.
Reply:sometimes your respondents tend to be bias when answering the questionnaire because there is a tendency that the respondent is not given the chance to give his/her opinion because there's already the "suggested" answers.

Others doesn't want to answer questionnaires that's why they just answer it for the sake of answering and finishing the questionnaire which could result to the inability to determine if the answered questionnaire is valid or not.

if you'll be making a questionnaire make sure that your respondents can comprehend with it because if not it would be a problem. if the respondents does not understand the questionnaire there is a tendency that the respondent will give up answering it or he might guess which could lead to misrepresentation.

A questionnaire must not also be very long because it loses the interest of the respondents in answering the questionnaire.

on the other hand it's advantages is it's easier to administer this and you can have many respondents because you can distribute it to a group of people but another disadvantage is others might not be able to return your questionnaire or others might just throw it.

Using questionnaires has also lower cost because you don't have to spend too much to produce the questionnaire and to distribute it.
Reply:Advantage:

Easy to administer

Easy to analyze

Disadvantage:

Relies on the subject to be honest

Limited questions equals limited analysis

Who can I use for my reference on my National Security Questionnaire for the Navy?

I have not been at my current address very long and I am required to have a reference that knows me at this address on my application for the navy.I don't have anybody I know well enough to put on my application. Who should I use or can I leave it blank?

Who can I use for my reference on my National Security Questionnaire for the Navy?
You can put me down.
Reply:No you cannot leave it blank. You can list one of your friends that knows you live there. Don't be afraid to list someone who is already listed elsewhere on the form. Try using one of your three personal references. You just can't use family members. I know that form is a pain in the ***, but do your recruiter a favor and fill that thing out as completely as possible.
Reply:If you need a reference for the address you're at right now then you can use a parent or a sibling. You just need someone who knows you live there.

You can't leave it blank. Your recruiter is going to type everything into the computer so he needs something to go off of.
Reply:Mail a letter to a former teacher who liked you and can say they know you live there (which they will once they get a letter from you).

How I can put a questionnaire for a research ?

i am a master student and i want to put a good questionnaire for my research. i want to ask what things are important as ageneral for a research questionnaire?

How I can put a questionnaire for a research ?
Ask your mentor, he will know. You could of course ask the questions on yahoo answers (if you have enough points). You could make a questionare and phone a bunch of people. But to make the results valid you have to make a sample populations (at least 32 people), and have a knowledge of statistics to interpret the results. It's more complicated than it sounds and you really should ask your mentor.

What should businesses bare in mind when writing and using a questionnaire?

Consider these factors...OBJECTIVES, SAMPLE, DATA ANALYSIS, AVOIDING BIAS, DEMOGRAPHICS, SAMPLE TYPE AND SIZE.

What should businesses bare in mind when writing and using a questionnaire?
Questonnaires are tricky. Businesses should know how the questionnaire is going to be used. Meaning what does the business what to know from its consumers or potential consumers.

Secondly, be mindful how the questions are phrased. BE concise and to the point, but make sure that questions are geared toward what information that you are looking for. I would sugest taking a class about doing questionnaires or find a professional company to do it for the business.

Is there any study about what do men prefer most in choosing a partner?

Do they prefer the women's personality traits or their physical beauty? Please include the methodology together with the separate questionnaires for personality traits and physical attractiveness, the procedures and all the important details of the study. Thanks a lot. Please help us.

Is there any study about what do men prefer most in choosing a partner?
A very difficult task because no two men are the same. What Bob likes, I might hate and what Bill likes I might find just terrible, so there is no way to answer this question. Just be yourself and be a honest, carrying person and all should be ok. Don't ever change yourself for any man, there is a guy out there that will like you for who you are and not for trying to please someone else.

I have to ask a questionnaire; I need ways to get positive answers?

It's a survey about my school, and I need to ask questions to get positive answers about it. They can be open or closed questions. Can anyone help?

I have to ask a questionnaire; I need ways to get positive answers?
you have to phrase the questions to make people answer positivly.

i.e instead of what do you think about school, ask what do you think is the best thing about school/lessons/teachers
Reply:you can change the words you use in the questions. by doing that it changes how people will respond. for example if you say "my car CRASHED into the car infront" its different when you say "i HIT the car infront" using the word crash in this sentence makes it more serious.

I completed your questionnaire as well. You might only have a few people respond at a time but if you remain persistent all of the participants will eventually build up.

u need 2 check ur spellings and all. am i right in saying that u r not european? no offence really, just curious.

i remember doing a questionnaire once. wot u need to do is to go to a place where there are many people, but not too busy or they wont want to answer you, like a town centre in the morning.

What happens when you're on Cobra and your former employer switches insurance carriers?

Thinking of quitting my job, so I'd have to start paying for Cobra, but I already know there's a very good chance my company will switch from Blue Cross to some random healthcare insurance company on October 1. I am pretty close to our HR Manager and she said that this one insurance carrier she has in mind would require all employees to fill out health questionnaires before they accept our firm as a client, so they can assess the level of risk they'd be taking by insuring us, so they know how high they should set our premiums . If I've already quit my job and I am out of state or out of the country, how can I continue to get Cobra? I can't ask our HR Manager this question because she would then guess I'm thinking of leaving and I don't intend on giving more than 2 weeks' notice. Thanks.

What happens when you're on Cobra and your former employer switches insurance carriers?
1st) When you take COBRA you are enrolling in the exact same plan that you have while you are with the company. The difference being is that you now have to pay 100% of the premium - where while you are employed you only pay what your employer does not.

2) When an employer switches carriers and you are on COBRA your plan switches to the new employer health plan as well. Again, you are responsible for 100% of the premium.

3) When an employer switched carriers - there are safeguards put in place to ensure you have the opportunity to continue your benefits with the new carrier.

If/when you quit, be sure to keep the employer advised of your new resident addresses. Also, your employer may use a third party to administrator your COBRA benefits. If this is the case, be sure to keep the third party administrator informed of any address changes.
Reply:I dont think it matters. I think Cobra benefits are completely different. Not certain though...
Reply:If your company has 20 or more employees then they must by federal law provide for COBRA if it is group health coverage.

see http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/faqs/faq_complia...

If the company decides to cancel their group coverage then that is another conversation.

The cost will be more than you pay now because you will be asked to pay for the employer portions as well as your current cost plus an administration fee.

The carrier (company) is not the important part but the coverage level.

If you are healthy it would be a good idea to check out individual coverage cost. An individual policy is usually less expensive than COBRA. (the coverages will be different as well)

How to ensure data is secure once it leaves the company network and heads to a 3rd party?

My company is shifting their data security emphasis to monitor 3rd parties. For example: we're constantly sending data to a firm that processes our finances and performs basic accounting/reporting. How do we ensure these 3rd parties aren't mishandling our data? How do we know if Joe Shmoe isn't copying our files, losing/replicating our tapes, or distributing our sensitive information? I'm looking for technologies, software, questionnaires, or some methodology that provides a meaningful assessment or metric that indicates how secure our data is once it leaves our network.

How to ensure data is secure once it leaves the company network and heads to a 3rd party?
http://www.webmail.us/?c1=ppc%26amp;source=adw...

http://www.iopus.com/freeware/secure-ema...
Reply:Don't give them your data. Host your data internally and provide usernames to each and every user that will be handling your data directly. In essence have a SOX compliant system for your accountants etc. If it's all financial data, you can use Oracle/SAP/_FAVORITE_VENDOR_ and create accounts withing that system.

Also, make sure if the data is accessible via web, they must use HTTPS and so on. Try reading a CISSP book for some tips.
Reply:Your provider can assist you on setting a router destinations that is secure. It is a paid service so that the routing tables force all your data to only be handled by the paid secure detinations that assures no un-wanted third party handling.

I am un sure of the route service provider that handles this. But it is how you secure and control the security of transmissions.
Reply:Have the data sent encrypted to them this won't keep them from using the data for reasons not approved by your company, but it ensures the data won't be accessible to a hacker. If your company has signed a contract with this 3rd party then there are provisions in the contract for misuse of your data that might be punishable by law
Reply:u need to encrypt all the stuff u send u can do this easily with the new windows vistas for business if u havnt upgraded u need to because vista is getting a bad wrap its 1 of the most secure os ever u will have no problems if u use this

Company Questionnaires

Candidate Profiles

Cognitive ability Profiles

Any additional pointers are welcomed. Thank you, thank you! A sure 10 points and weight of my shoulders for the best answer. :)

What are the desired skills for a Financial Planning Services agent?
The skills required are a minimum Associates Degree,

professional appearance, excel. communication skills, highly organized, proficient in Microsoft office %26amp; be career oriented

You will be trained to market a comprehensive portfolio of top quality insurance and investment products by the company.
Reply:First and foremost you have to have honesty and integrity as you will be potentially advising people what to do with their life savings.

Secondly you need to be extremely numerate because the calculations involved in this area are quite complex sometimes.

Thirdly you need to be able to explain these difficult calculations to potentially non-numerate people.

Working for any of the major insurance/assurance companies wil require you to undergo training, so typically you wont already be expected to know the calcs

Make sure your cv and the way you answer any company questionnaires etc emphasise your abilities/ambitions and keenness to learn in all these areas
Reply:In addition to what has already been mentioned, keep in mind that there is a sales component to most financial planning firms (at least at this point in the evolution of the profession). That will entail not being shy about obtaining new clients.

Also as a financial services executive(with a certificate in financial planning), I recommend checking out www.learntosucceed.biz. They can make the difference, sound career advice and they will answer your specific questions.

Good Luck.

How does one know if they are suitable for a certain job?

Are there any tests or questionnaires that can help a person really understand his/her own abilities, strengths and weaknesses?

What else can one do to answer this question?

How does one know if they are suitable for a certain job?
Your education and your previous job experiences will definetely help for a certain job. I don't think u'll need a test or a questionnaire for your strenght and/or your weaknesses
Reply:I agree with the internship idea, most of my friends that have taken similar tests had no interest at all to go in what they were best for.
Reply:Call up (or email) a company that holds a position you want and ask them. Also, many companies that post job availability will post required qualifications. After reading a couple of them, you should get an idea of companies are looking for.

If you are in college or highschool, talk to your school counciler. Colleges and highschools are set up to guide the students down that path.

Remember, if asked nicely, people are willing to give information for free!

Just wondering, what job are you looking for?
Reply:Arrange to have a vocational guidance test.
Reply:No one is stupid! Everything only needs simple knowledge and a lot of common Sence! You dont need any questionaire!!! Just work hard and Use your common Sence!
Reply:Yes there are career guidance tests, however it is going to be based on exactly how you answer these questions. The best thing I have found was to take charge and get say an internship...even if unpaid to see if the job is suitable to your tastes.

Are there some people who want to help a budding researcher by responding to his online thesis questionnaire?

How do I find people to answer questionnaire for my dissertation?
You may not be having as many responses as you could have because you have many grammatical errors in your survey. Because you have written this survey for educational purposes, it is extremely important that there are no errors in it.

Some people may decide that if you have not taken time to ensure that your survey is grammatically correct, you may not be serious about your project. No one wants to take time out of his/her day to help someone who may or may not make good use of the help. Others may begin the survey and become frustrated because they are confused by your questions, or they do not want to take the time to figure out what you mean.

From the errors you have made, I would guess that English is not your primary language. You may seriously want to consider having a "native speaker" proofread any work that you are going to make public.

=) I did take (and finish) the survey.

How can i design a Family wellbeing Questionnaire?

I would like to conduct a research on family wellbeing. in this i wanted to include nuclear family, joint family and adopted family. and the influence of education, religion, economical conditions in the wellbeing of these type of families.

How can i design a Family wellbeing Questionnaire?
for that i you need to prepare a questionaire for every family memeber, to every age.....that would be more like an interview from every memeber in a family, i.e. children, adults and parents. asking them about their interests in life, how much can they reach their interests and how much do they need to struggle for; what opportunities are there available to them and what opportunities do they wish for; what are their likes and dislikes; what makes their goal and what steps do they think can be beneficial; what are their achievements so far and xyz....

I once heard that the CEO of Wal-Mart believes global warming is real.

And that fact alone should be enough to make believers out of the skeptics.

Reply:Very very good question and this is very specific to the emissions that Al Gore speaks about. The science is missing on the Co2 aspect of warming but the emissions are a very big deal.

These emissions are toxic, acid rain is a result and at the end of the day we have a toxicity ratio of 100% in newborns. Newborns don't have the immune system to protect themselves and yet they were loaded with chemicals which are cancer causing, reproductive problems and a death sentence before they take their first breath.

Wal-Mart as well as other industry purchase products made in China or other countries so they can maximize profit because of lower costs. China has all this new industry from North America and has to generate the electricity for production. That requires building power plants, burning coal, producing emissions to mass produce products to sell to the world. The emissions will cause acid rain and don't think the emissions stay in China.

We drink them, eat them and breathe them. The emissions contain mercury and Autism rates are up.

I respect making money but we have to do it sustainably. Our babies are poisoned and we have reproductive problems as a species. What happens when a species can't reproduce anymore?

My question to Wal-Mart may seem harsh but it is a question for all corporations, governments and citizens.

What is Wal-Mart doing to eliminate the GHG emissions generated by the outsourcing of their products? I would ask Wal-Mart if their industry is defineable as sustainable when in fact they are producing toxins that are affecting health?

I would ask Wal-Mart, the oil industry, government leaders, etc. Are you wealthy if the end result is your own children toxic and sick?

I would ask Wal-Mart what they have done for waste water treatment systems in the world to catch the dissolved chemicals associated with their production and operations?

Go to http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-h... and click on the study on polluted newborns. Follow the page down to see how Wal-Mart and other buildings are generating heat because of UV excitation.

What product is Wal-Mart using in the exterior coat of paint on their building to ensure their buildings don't generate heat that will lower air pressure and change weather

How would you go about surveying potential Customers?

I have a business idea, and would like to get opinions on what customers are looking for in the industry of Family Entertainment, and Party Halls. Are there companies that I should use to ask these Q.s or do I just go "out to the streets" with Questionnaires.. Thanks.

How would you go about surveying potential Customers?
Usually Harris Poll does it for companies. I'm not sure how but if you stand in the streets or mall some people would go for it but other wouldn't want to.

How do I find the "Real" Straw Poll or any other polls that actually include all of the candidates?

I have looked all over the net, but still can't find poll questionnaires that include all of the 2008 presidential candidates. Does one exist?

How do I find the "Real" Straw Poll or any other polls that actually include all of the candidates?
There was one on AOL, I can get the link in a second. I don't think online polling or offline polling is all that accurate however.
Reply:Did they leave someone out at the poll below?
Reply:Yes , that , I would like to see too . Thank you for asking !!!

I need to find a good online resource for characterization please?

I don't find most of the sites with questionnaires helpful.

I need to find a good online resource for characterization please?
You don't provide many specifics (so I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate for your needs), but I came across this link which might prove helpful.

Luck.

On the job application questionnaire, why are there questions about dishonest politicians?

And then there is another question that asks how many people do I think cheat on their tax returns...I just don't understand how these questions help them evaluate me as an applicant. Have you guys seen these types of questions on your applications before? How do you answer them and what is the point of them?

On the job application questionnaire, why are there questions about dishonest politicians?
Are you, by chance, applying for a position in retail or a bank?

Those types of questions are put on applications to test YOUR honesty. Most theft in retail operations is from employees, not shoplifters.

Studies show that people who are dishonest (or who steal) assume that everyone else does, too. So they are actually asking, "Are you the type of person who will steal from us if we hire you?"

The "correct" answer would be that most people do not cheat on their income taxes, and that most politicians are honest. But now that I've told you this secret, you have to promise that if they hire you, you won't steal. Anything. Ever. Not even a stick of gum. OK?

Questionnaires/Personality Tests for Sales Positions... what do you think of them????

I took yet another one today and one thing that stood out was the "argumentative" person within us, which I assume measures how well you negotiate. "Do you give a direct answer to questions that are uncomfortable to discuss?", "Do you like to avoid arguing because of the unpleasantness of confrontation?" Of course I answered "yes" and "no" respectively to both.

Questionnaires/Personality Tests for Sales Positions... what do you think of them????
I took a test a few years ago for this guy who offered a job already.

After the test, he reniged on the offer because he said the test indicated that I would never be successful in outside sales.

I have been very successful, and have been #1 for 2 years in my company...

THE TEST ARE B_LL S__T!!!!!
Reply:Any happy marriage involves some amount of "no" and "yes" respectively for the guy. Anything else is a lie and the marriage is not sold.

Everything else is on the fly.

And there ya go.

What questions could i put in a psychology questionnaire about why people get together?

I'm concentrating on the friends side of things, and questions could be about proximity, familiarity, personality, etc

What questions could i put in a psychology questionnaire about why people get together?
Hi Pete Like,

For personality, list a bunch of personality traits, such as extroverted, moody, etc and have the person ansewr that. Also ask the person to list the traits of their friends or girlfriends (they should have similar traits and number of traits).

For familiarity, ask where you lived (if this is college) and if it was on the same floor. Or if they worked at the same company. People are generally friends with ppl they see on a daily basis.

Also ask how often they see their friends. The more you see someone, the more you will like them.
Reply:Question - Penis?

Answer - Always.
Reply:You could include emotional connectedness, habit, leisure, common interests, that's assuming they are gathering for sociable pleasure and fun.

What about including reasons why friends gather to get up to negative behaviours like, mischief, degradation, criminal damage, binge drinking etc.
Reply:- what makes you want to talk to someone?

- how far away does the farthest friend you have live from you? the closest?

- how %26amp; where did you meet your best friend?

- is your closest friend the same or opposite sex as you?

- are you an introvert or extrovert? what about your closest friend?
Reply:Physical attributes- is the person as good looking or better looking than you?

Things in common (similarities) vs. opposites (desired traits)
Reply:do you feel lonely most of the time?

do you need to have someone around you all the time?

do you have to talk about your problems?

do you feel you learn something from other people?

do you feel you have something to give to other people

do you want things from other people like praise opr support or encouragement

do you choose your friends because they make you feel better

or do you have friends because you feel like you need to fit in and be liked

etc etc?
Reply:do you go out with friends or strangers?

Where can I find help filling out a questionnaire for a city job?

*SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!!!*

Ok, so I'm not an idiot but I haven't exactly retained everything I learned back in high school either.

I have to turn in a supplemental questionnaire with my resume next week stating my experiences with examples, etc.

It states, 'Relevancy of your experience and training together with composition, grammer, spelling, puncuation, legibility and neatness will be considered when evaluating responses.'

I really want this job. Any pointers on how to format it, etc? I think typing it up will take care of a lot of issues but I'm not so good with grammer, composition or punctuation.

Where can I find help in these areas? Are there any online sites that can 'correct' my work? Any books at the library?

HELP!!!

I need a fairly simple learning style questionnaire/quiz suitable for Entry 3 level ESOL students. Does anyone know of one, or a link to one? It must have the analysis/answers.

This links looks as if it could be copied and printed as well as done online. It also has the results for you.

This one is very simple and could be done very easily if everyone has access to computers.

What do you call a person conducting a survey?

For example, I'm conducting a research about the effects of the Internet to Students, and I have the questionnaires and all that. What am I? I was considering "proponet", but the dictionary says "a proponent is a person who supports a cause or in favor of something." and i think my case does not apply. What do you guys think?

What is the easiest questionnaire to use a research study?

I'm looking for like a Yes or No type survey and its name, preferably from a university.

What is the easiest questionnaire to use a research study?
Look up the Rosenberg self-esteem scale online. It's used in a lot of real psychological research. Maybe it would work for your purposes. And it's only got 10 items.
Reply:If you want to do a research study you will be shocked to find out that questionnaires are the hardest ways to do a study. Much easier to do an experiment (my profs tell us that many students go the questionaire route because they think its easier only to find out its loads more difficult).

As far as finding a survey for you, you should really do that for yourself... its your study/homework (i'm assuming this will be for class).

Where can a find the best software for a questionnaire template?

Free or for a fee, I need software that I can tool around with for adding questions and print them in a nice, easy-to-read format. I want to be able to print this off or e-mail it to customers so that it looks highly professional and is easy to edit/use. Thank you!

Where can a find the best software for a questionnaire template?
You could go here :-

BUT.

How about using your own word processor (eg Word 2000).

You can open up a new document and bring up "Table" and customise it.

It is really easy.

What methods of information collection could I use to improve the result of the questionnaire?

I can only think of two

Interviews- is a discussion which aiming at obtaining information, especially in asking questions

Observation - is noting and recording something while taking some notes where necessary

BUT WHAT ELSE COULD BE USED?

What methods of information collection could I use to improve the result of the questionnaire?
Focused Groups. A small ( 10-15 ) group of people that hold discussions prompted by a facilitator. This person steers the conversation to get to the bottom of the issue, without telling the group what the real issue is .

Example: talk about beverages , but without telling them that the facilitator wants to find out what people think of a specific brand of orange juice.

Questionnaires: A written questionnaire that goes from general to specific : number of questions vary depending on the survey level ( from 10 questions up to 100 questions)

Census data collection : If questionnaire deals with socio-economic or geographical issues.
Reply:In research, there are generally several types, and you have already identified 2 of them.

First, note that there is qualitative research (generally asks how, or what, and is open ended.. example: "Why do people make web pages?") and there is quantitative research (generally asks how many, or to what degree, and involves numbers... example: "What percentage of people in my neighborhood have web pages?")

Then there are further sub-categories...

1) Historical - looking up books, articles, and prior studies to help find information that other people already wrote about.

2) Textual Analysis - observing a text (like a movie, commercials, books, magazines, etc...) for content and emergent themes. For example, in observing the show "The Flintsones", one can see that it was obviously developed with humor that appeals to adults and children and was the first cartoon to market to adults.

3) Ethnography - This is what you called observation. Is watching a situation or environment from the outside to see what happens, generally for an extended period of time. For example, some researchers join tribes in the forest in order to see how they live.

4) And of course, Interveiwing. A good way to get more info from your respondents is to ask open ended statements--- for example:

Tell me about your childhood.

What do you think of _______?

Etc...

Doing this allows the person to tell a story rather than just answer yes or no.

Hope that all helps!
