If I send out 3,000 questionnaires, what is a good response rate?

It all depends on circumstances but generally I would say about 12%

If I send out 3,000 questionnaires, what is a good response rate?
It depends on the subject matter the the method you are using the collect the information and the length of questionnaire and whether you are incentivising people to respond to you questionnaire. The easier, quicker, and the most engaging subjects get the best response rates.

If its a postal, 40 minute, boring subject questionnaire with no incentive, untargetted questionnaire you would be lucky to get 1%. If you target the right people online, with a short interesting questionnaire with a good incentive above 1 pound you could expect around 40%.
Reply:Industry average for direct mail is 1.5% to 2%, but some claim they have received over 20%. It would depend on the demand for the product or service and the quality of the questionnaire.

Most people do not want to fill out anything unless there is an immediate benefit for them like cash or a discount on something they want, say gasoline.
Reply:In what format were the questionnaires? Paper or Internet? Either way, people don't like putting personal details on either. If paper, was there a free post facility? If not, expect a low response rate.
Reply:Depends on the kind of respondents u r sending it too.....

Normally in a random sample the response rate is 2-3% at best. Anything above that is a bonus
Reply:Most market research firms work on a 1% return rate.
Reply:probably a couple of percent
Reply:10% or 300 would be very good.

Ja.
Reply:prob bout 10%. 20% max

Processing questionnaires: what to do with "i dont know" answers?

I could place them as a seperate catagory and give a % OR i could file them under "missings" but then they wouldnt be shown with a %. What i would like to know is if i can CHOOSE between the two ways, depending on the needs...

Processing questionnaires: what to do with "i dont know" answers?
Both of the two first answers here are informative.

You can choose between the two methods - exclude from the overall total and indicate them as missing - or include them as 'don't know' and indicate the percentage responding in this category. However, you will need to be consistent in analysing the data and reporting the results.

The best thing to do is to include the "I don't know(s) as representative of your dataset. So include them in the total (for all questions) and work out the percentage of those in this category. As someone else here comments, it is better to think of this in the questionnaire design stage and to think about what a "I don't know" response really means; is it better for example to have a sliding scale from 'strongly agree' through to 'strongly disagree'. This together with piloting your questionnaire is one of the most aspects of questionnaire design.
Reply:Sure. It depends on what the question is. "I don't know" may be a legitimate response. I would generally place them in a separate category, but it depends on the nature of the survey. "I don't know" could mean "I don't care" or "I don't have enough choices to choose from" depending on the circumstance. they key thing here would be to use a footnote on the survey results stating what you did, so others who read it won't be tricked into thinking that you are playing with the numbers a bit.
Reply:I think you need to keep your results consistant so changing how you represent the "I don't know" answers to suit your needs would probably be defeating the object.

I would give them their own category because "I don't know" can say a lot about the question you've asked or the person who has answered.

Why do people dislike taking personality questionnaires?

why do people dislike taking personality questionnaires? how would you answer these criticisms?

Why do people dislike taking personality questionnaires?
For me it is because it negates the option to defend my character defects. Not just that but some of the questions give you only 2 options. Either you are mother theresa/liar or you are an evil axe murderer who was probably molested and abused as a child. They don't leave many grey areas in those questions...some are pretty brutal. Most personality questions I've taken were for something that i wanted to gain for myself such as a job or a good position somwhere else. So, I never really liked them much. Good news is that most employers and authorities usually know that everyone has a little "in between" area with the angel mindset or an axe murderer's.
Reply:Because people don't like to divulge to much about themselves. The questions are to personal.
Reply:I don't dislike it. Do you have one you want me to take?
Reply:They are hated for two reasons:

1. Waste of Time

2. They make people feel uncomfortable because they delve too deeply into them.
Reply:Vulnerability.

No one really wants to be judged by a single questionnaire..

Many personality tests have over 100 questions or more and

The Tests measure, Trends in thinking, Likes and dislikes and other traits.

No test is perfect. But, the tests do reveal tendencies and a glimpse as to the individuals Personality.

Example: We may not want a person with a Hostile personality to caring for the elderly in a Nursing home or serving children meals in school cafeteria.

Not many of us really enjoy taking questionnaires or Tests.

Thanks for the Interesting question.
Reply:well i am not a peopple i am a person and i like taking them because i believe that most of them are crap just like the iq tests.
Reply:I actually think they are fun, you cant really beleive everything that they say because they are not 100% accurate. I just take them for the fun of it. Everyone is different, and it is good or wouldnt it be a boring world?
Reply:Not everyone does! Many are poorly worded, have a preset or preconceived way they want them to come out. In other words very biased. But there are some good ones out there too. But the majority aren't so people get jaded about revealing anything.
Reply:Because they don't want to waste their time with nonsense. Most questionnaires are poorly designed and even less skillfully analyzed.
Reply:Because most people feel like there is an ulterior motive to the questions they are asked. They feel like they are maybe being tricked into answering something that will be used against them later.

No - I'm not paranoid - just skeptical about how these questionnaires are intepreted.
Reply:Because most people don't have the personality they want.

When to start sending questionnaires to college coaches?

i want to play divison 1 softball but i dont know when i should start sending questionnaires to coaches of colleges that iam interested in. im now at the end of my junior year. i was thinking that fall of my junior year would be a good time? because it gets my name out before my junior season, so i could potentially be watched by a coach my junior season or during summer ball following my junior season. i feel that any later would hurt me since my senior season would be too late. does this seem right?

When to start sending questionnaires to college coaches?
NCAA rules will unfortunately prohibit any coaches or recruitment staff from answering many, if any, questionnaires you send to any given university. The method and content of their contact with potential recruits is tightly regulated. The primary advantage to sending any "letters of interest" or questionnaires is a coach becoming interested in learning more about your stats or performance if they see your name on paper.

First contact between programs and potential recruits will generally take place in your sophomore or junior season; the best and only guaranteed way of promoting your name for recruitment is hard-nosed networking. Play fall ball, attend summer camps, tell every coach you meet you want to play at the next level, try out for state and national leagues, and make your sport an integral part of your life.

That being said, if you haven't done all this and have yet to be contacted by any programs by the end of your junior season, your chances of being recruited are highly unlikely. There are only about one hundred NCAA division I softball programs; each softball team's roster will roughly consist of about fifteen players, though that number can vary. Doing the math, you can make a rough estimate that only about four hundred graduating seniors in the entire country will be recruited. It's important to remember as well that not every player will be a scholarship recruit; there are players on every team that still pay for the pleasure of representing their school on the field. Finding a program that you want to play for as a walk-on is an option as well, but you'll be competing with a few dozen other students (if not a hundred) for what usually amounts to a single slot on a roster.

Don't set your sights solely on a division I program. There are hundreds upon hundreds of division II and division III schools that you should look at as well.

Compare and contrast questionnaires and experiments in terms of their internal and external validity?

help!

Compare and contrast questionnaires and experiments in terms of their internal and external validity?
You want us to do your homework...

experiments are test of knowledge which can be testing cells, mixture of chemicals and finding love.

questionnaires are test of skills, values and interests which comes from the internal brain.
Reply:If a questionnaire or experiment has internal validity, it means it agrees with itself, that the questions you are asking are all asking the same thing, or trying to "get at" the same information. For example, with the Beck Depression Inventory, we are trying to measure levels of depression, and want to make sure all of the questions are trying to do so, and that they all agree in some way. If there was a question about chocolate cake in there, then it would not have internal validity. If it has external validity, then the questionnaire agrees with other questionnaires or established markers in the field. For example, the Beck Depression Inventory has external validity because it agrees with the symptoms of depression as defined by the DSM (Diagnosic and Statistical Manual). I think this link defines it better: http://chiron.valdosta.edu/whuitt/col/in...

What online surveys, polls, and questionnaires really and truly do pay you money?

Years ago, I joined as many as many as I could find. Only one ever paid me any money. Unfortunately, I can't remember which one it was.

What online surveys, polls, and questionnaires really and truly do pay you money?
The simple answer is virtually none. Thousands, if not millions of people have tried this and basically they're getting scammed.

If you get further responses to this question you'll probably find they include links and within the link will be a user ID - that's because they make money (small amounts) by recruiting more people. If you sign up you'll fnd that instead of answering questions you'll have to recruit more people in order to make money.

There are a very small number of genuine sites but unfortunately I don't know what they are otherwise I could direct you to them. Check the sites carefully - if the the first thing they want you to do is to sign up then forget it. Only trust the sites that explain in detail what it's all about before you have to sign up. Never join a scheme where you have to pay anything - no reputable organization works this way.

The link below is to a site which has checked out 172 similar schemes of which only 3 were found to be genuine... http://www.sitereviewauthority.org/paid-... The page includes links you can follow to get more info about the genuine sites.

Reply:I get paid monthly from the sites listed in this website, free to join and pay you regularly after you reach their minimum payout usually $5 ..for further details check out the link below

I do surveys with them all the time. The average pay is $2.00 per survey.
Reply:Well, I've listed here pretty much all of the ones I've tried which have actually paid me money (or gift cards or other rewards):

Why are questionnaires a good method of primary research?
well, basically you get a sense of the persons beliesf, ideas, ect ect from the way they answer the questionnaires questions. its a good way of gathering broad information about something/someone cheaply and efficient. people are more likely to be more truthful in a questionnaire as well.....compared to if a person was asking them.
Reply:They ask for the public's opinion or interests towards a certain subject. Ultimately, you are doing something for the public so it is best to ask for their opinions.

What are structured questionnaires or inventories? How is it used in job analysis?

Well, the goal of a job analysis is to describe exactly what is done on the job, what skills are needed in order to perform the job and possibly what personality characteristics are helpful in order to do the job well. So, a structured questionnaire is a questionnaire that asks very specific questions about each of these areas. For example, a structured questionnaire (or inventory) contains questions like, "To what extent does this job involve the following activities: a) fine motor skills, b) gross motor skills, c) eye-hand coordination, d) excellent eyesight, etc. The person who currently holds the job fills out the questionnaire and answers each question usually on a 1 to 5 scale where 1 = never and 5 = very often.

An unstructured questionnaire might take an approach like this: "Tell me about your job - what do you do?" The result is a lengthy description. This approach might reveal some things that the structured approach could miss, but usually the structured approach is preferred.

Hope this helps!

Study on the effectiveness of self-reported questionnaires?

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows of any studies that have been completed that have looked at the reliability of self- reported questionnaires. I am looking specifically at a study which involved children reporting on their parents methods, and I am questioning how reliable their answers may be. I need professional studies, rather than just opinions.

Anyone know websites where you get paid for doing online questionnaires/surveys?

My friend says you can get paid for doing online questionaires. As i am bored and could do with some money anyone know of any.

Anyone know websites where you get paid for doing online questionnaires/surveys?
Of the ones I've been subscribed to since beginning of 2005, the only one that has actually paid me anything is CIAO - http://www.ciao.co.uk/reg.php?AffiliateI...

It not only offers surveys, but gives you the chance to write product reviews (which seems to be where the real money is on there), and do price comparisons on products too.

Minimum amount you need to earn is about £5 - £6, and so far I've had 2, and a few pence short of bagging my 3rd.

Most the other survey sites for the UK only enter you in a sweepstake, and in 7yrs of having the Internet CIAO is the only place I've actually earned money rather than spent the stuff.

Also http://www.yougov.com/ does paid surveys, but has a larger minimum payout, so gotta wait longer to build it up.
Reply:www.ciao.co.uk

you will need to set a profile up and then they will send you lots of different ones a week
Reply:I've listed most of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or received other rewards like gift cards or CD'S) on the following webpage:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that. Since your friend is already taking paid surveys, in stead of signing up through my links you might want to ask her what sites she's part of and have her refer you--that way she will get the credit).

Here are some tips to avoid scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.

Here are two other sites which are very helpful

Reply:Best, legal and safe way to earn on internet is by joining paid survey sites. Paid survey sites pay you for your opinion on various topics.

Earning money by on-line questionnaires at 16 years old possible?
Hey :]

I've got a few success stories with the "MyBux" networks. They're paid to click sites, and are probably the most trustworthy ones around. Even the owner posts in the forums, keeping everyone up to date and is very friendly - an honest person. There's 4 of these sites, all different but owned by the same person and signing up to all 4 is well.. 4 times the amount of money ^^

I've earned quite a bit from them, and they DO payout on time, everytime, and it's pretty easy to make hundreds from them, even thousands if you try.

It's well worth the 30 min every day.

What is the best method of job analysis?Interview, questionnaires, direct observation, or worker's record?

Usually any one method is insufficent. At a minmun you need two or three methods to cross validated your information.

What sets works best depends alot on the job, the person being observed and who collecting the data.

Interviews and "desk audits"(direct observation) are the methods I saw used the most, but requires the most work.

Which software / application should I use to create questionnaires?

Although I have some knowledge of html coding (self-tutored), I am by no means a programmer. But i would need to use some sort of efficient (and if possible user-friendly) application that will allow me to create and maintain questionnaires to design "continuing education" programs (pharmacists, physicians, nurses, ect), that would ideally be web-based.

After reading a little bit on the subject, I figured that learning some basic mySql or php (or both) might be useful (??) although this seems to be quite time consuming and I don't know which tool best suited for this project... I have no experience with mySql or php at the moment. The tools I have mastered (MS Excel, Dreamweaver, etc) are clearly insufficient here, unfortunately.

Why do colleges even bother to send out the roommate questionnaires?

From my experience they don't use them. If they do use it they put your exact opposite in the room with you. I only stayed on campus one semester sophomore year because my roommate was so horrible. And I know I am not an exception most people I know had roommate problems and not little ones.

Why do colleges even bother to send out the roommate questionnaires?
Some colleges use them and in you case, your school was trying to put different or opposite people together to bring unity to the dorms instead of setting up cliques by putting everyone alike together.

How/why can questionnaires cause distress to participants?

Im trying to find out if working class kids fail in education due to external factors for a sociology coursework.

How/why can questionnaires cause distress to participants?
By causing the participants to remember stressful situations, by making them "nervous" because they may feel that their answers can be "wrong", by making them feel guilty about something that is mentioned (same as remembering situations). Any of these can bring distress to a particpant.

Also, depending on how the questions are worded, a particpant can become angry at the question or about the question, sometimes as a resentment surfacing or the "cheek" of the question.
Reply:I do personally believe that external factors contribute to kids failing in education. My parents divorced when i was at school and i feel that this contributed to me not having a stable family background - lack of confidence and basically having to run a household as well as carrying on at school on a day to day basis. Luckily I am a success story and I did well at school and have gone on to success in my personal life.
Reply:I suppose people are sensetive to stereotypes, esp when you are researching a certain cross section. They might not like the "working class" label.

My friend and I both dropped out of the same course at uni. 6 months later she recieved a letter saying the uni wanted to know why so many students from working class families dropped out. When they found I hadnt had such a letter her mum went bonkers and rung the uni! My parents worked in local governement and were quite high up, hers ran a small pub. They didnt like the label %26amp; were really hung up on it. Not enough to do anything about it though!!!
Reply:they might be worried about who will be seeing the answers, whether it will be confidential what your going to use it for might be too long
Reply:im not quite--well---oh god, i cant do this, its stressing me out, somebody hand me a cigarette now!
Reply:One way I think Distress can be caused, particularly with kids, if they think that you may let other people (their peers) see their answers to the questionaire. Peer pressure and acceptance is huge for kids, if they think you might not keep their answers confidential they may answer untruthfully.

One way to ease this is to make it a real point that the answers will not be shared with anyone else other than you and your assistants, or something like that. Or make sure to assign each kid a number instead of using their name (if that's possible in this study). Just some ideas. Good Luck with your research.
Reply:My personal opinion is that these(all really) children have not been taught to articulate the needed responses found on these types of formats(either through the system or by parents who haven't the ability to do so themselves as well) as well as the questions that are asked tend to psychologically group identities into artificial nonsensical divisions which don't reasonably reflect the individual vs the group intellectual or intuitive levels/responses.
Reply:The worst external factor is being branded "working class". What cetury's sociology are you studying? Questionnaires may raise the spectre of history the participant thought had been laid to rest. What's the link between your questions, please?
Reply:because they are a pain in the a*se and usually used in some sort of distorted research. first, you have to find out if working kids actually DO fail in education. second, its stupid to make a blanket statement about everyone. third,. sociology sucks rocks and is used to make generalisations about people. find a better hobby. like dancing with chickens.

Why do they give you those dumb questionnaires when you apply for a job?

They ask the dumbest questions:

If a a co-worker steals something do you tell your boss?

LOL

Why do they give you those dumb questionnaires when you apply for a job?
put down dumb replies - like "tell them what?"
Reply:Those questionnaires are designed so they can learn about how you will handle situations that may come up.
Reply:Some people answer very truthfully, usually while under the influence (of whatever drug), and you would be surprised at some of the answers that they give.

It really does help weed people out.

How do you answer correctly on Exsel Questionnaires? The personality tests for sales positions?

Often companies ask you to take one of those personality tests that are about 180 questions and are 30 minutes long. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on taking one of them. I have to take one for this company that I have been interviewing for and it is impairative that my answers are in line. If anyone could offer any advice it would be much appreciated. It is one of those test that ask: do you believe in war, are you content....

How do you answer correctly on Exsel Questionnaires? The personality tests for sales positions?
When a company asks you to take those personality tests, they are trying to look at your "intangibles". They want to see if your personality is right for that particular position. By answering each question honestly, the outcome of the test will be the most accurate of who you are and what your "intangibles" will bring to the table. Then the company will then be able to tell the basics such as your dominance, extroversion, patience and conformity. Most of those tests are amazingly accurate. If you want the job, relax, take your time with it and answer as best as you see fit.

Hopefully that helps...
Reply:I have no idea. I fail everytime. Maybe the trick is to not look at the questions and just randomly mark answers lol.
Reply:You want to come across as a GOD.

They can't pass you up. If they did, they would be making a terrible mistake.

Often, they are looking for leaders. Somebody that has to make tough decisions, not somebody who is unsure of themselves and needs to rely upon the answers other people give them.

Keep that in mind.

YES I believe in WAR. I choose to fight for my beliefs and ideals and not laying around and letting other people defeat me or just plain giving up.

P.S. I gave up too easily in the past because I didn't believe in War.

What is the connection between social network and entrepreneurship. Where can i get the sample questionnaires?
There's a study in Technovation that looks at the use of informal social network in an entrepreneurial incubator. I believe it was a qualitative study, but you would be best served to look at the study. The DV is technological developement. You should be able to order a free copy from your inviersity library, and the questionaires from the authors.

Why is it necessary to divulge having an abortion on medical questionnaires?

Why do they ask or need to know? I can understand if you're there because there's a problem that might be related, but what about years later or if you go to a new doctor for something like headaches?

Why is it necessary to divulge having an abortion on medical questionnaires?
Ya know, I have thought the same thing and found out why recently.... I am 31 and I had an abortion when I was 18. When we moved to a new state and switched drs I thought the same as you and so this time I did not divuldge that I had one. Well... I went in for a pain in my side and migraines about two years ago. They couldn't figure out what the heck was going on. So, I suffered... About two months ago, I went in to the gyn because I had unexplained bleeding, I didn't mention the headaches or pains because to me they weren't related. They did an ultrasound and didn't find the cause for the bleeding (which we later found out after I told the gyn that I had gotten a cortasone shot for my shoulder at my primary drs the week before and that can cause bleeding). The gyn did come in however and asked if I had any side pain. I said yes and headaches too. She said I had hydrosalpinx. After re-asking me my medical questions I didn't leave out the abortion this time and she looked over everything and said that the hydrosalpinx was from the abortion that I had over 13 yrs ago. It was causing side pain that caused me to sit differently which caused my neck to strain and poof headache.

So, I learned a very, very valuable lesson. I have found over the years too that I am not the only person in the world to have had an abortion and I have never had a doctor or nurse judge me on it. I think we get so private and possessive over our information that we can hurt ourselves. I know is SEEMS like they don't need to know, but I am here to tell you that when I went in last week to my dr and told her that I had an abortion (to see if it would have mattered had she known), she called yesterday and said that she had some more ideas on why I was having the side pain. They weren't what exactly what was wrong, but had we tested for what her ideas were two years ago we would have found the beginning of the hydrosalpinx and could have stopped the damage to my flopean tube. The same goes for the gyn visit and the bleeding. I chose not to tell her about the cortosone shot because I didnt think it was pertinent and yet it was the direct cause of the bleeding. If we want a dr to solve a puzzle then we need to give them ALL the pieces.

I know it kinda sucks, but they do need to know. Take it from me, tell them and just remind yourself that they aren't there to judge you and if they do, then honestly, you need a new dr.

Good Luck. I hope this helped answer your question, or at least give you some perspective.
Reply:For the same reasons that you divulge any past surgical procedure, or even childhood illnesses - because every part of your medical history can be relevant under any circumstances.
Reply:The only reason I can see why a doctor would want to know is if you are pregnant. I now someone who was pregnant and the baby had to have a transfusion because of incapability with the mother's blood. This only happens on a second birth or after the women has had a miscarriage or abortion previously.
Reply:there has been some research (apparently) that links having an abortion with the development of certain cancers .. ( just how true this is and who actually funded the research escapes me at this time) ...

apparently it has to do with the sudden drop in certain hormones that takes place after the abortion ( and my guess natural miscarriages too)...

SO maybe it is only to ensure that there is a complete medical history of what you have had ... so it can help with diagnosis of future illnesses in YEARS to come...

ALSO ... some women carry a lot of emotional baggage if they have had an abortion .. guilt regret shame and this may play a part in depression. If it's on record ..the cause of the depression may be found and the proper counselling given.

I HOPE that they are the only reasons and NOT that any doctor judges you .. :)

What do you think about these personality questionnaires that employers are making part of the hiring process?

I don't understand what they have to do with anything and frankly, I find them really prejudicial. The questions are pointless and there is no way to know what answer they want. Any thoughts on this? Does anyone know why they exist and who writes them?

What do you think about these personality questionnaires that employers are making part of the hiring process?
i understand what you mean. My main problem with these tests is the way they are worded, and the fact that there is no chance to explain some answers. For example, I once took one of those tests and a question was "Have you ever known someone that stole something?" The choices were only "yes" or "no". No chance to explain how you felt about it. So, employers, should I answer truthfully with a "yes", even though i I do not get to explain how wrong I felt it was, or that I lie and say "no"?

Has anyone recieved any of the free stuff by filling out the survey questionnaires?

You know those "Free Gift Card" offers or those "Free Software" offers that they say you recieve when you fill out their survey questionnaires. I tried doing one of those one time and it took me a couple of hours to get through a lot of the surveys before I got tired and quiet. Then, all I recieved were a bunch of spam email advertisements from a bunch of different companies. Has anyone ever gotten through one of those things and really recieved the free offer?

Has anyone recieved any of the free stuff by filling out the survey questionnaires?
Nope. The only free gift you get is another survey to fill out %26amp; more spam mail, then they start asking for your home address %26amp; telephone number. Most of that crap is coming from bill collectors that are searching for people to serve with paperwork, arrest warrants, or just plain old harrassment from an old debt. That's why I no longer answer anyone, except people on the yahoo site, because no one knows who you are except your service provider!

I have taken surveys through websites where you can earn points to get things like CDs and gift card and such, or where they pay you a small amout per survey (usally $0.50-$5...occassionally $10-15 for longer surveys). What to wear to pre-employment questionnaires/exams?

I've applied to a few records positions for local law enforcement agencies. I've passed the initial application, but have been asked to go to testing locations for a personal history questionnaire and video testing (answer questions via score sheet based on situations presented in a video). The testing runs (as noted) anywhere from an hour and a half to two. What I want to know is, what do I wear to the testing? I would prefer not to wear a full business suit (I only have one, and would like to save it for the actual interview). Any (serious) advice would be helpful! Thanks.

What to wear to pre-employment questionnaires/exams?
Full business or at minimum business casual.

This is a job for a career you are interviewing for, not working fast food.

They will be judging you on your appearance just as much as your other abilities.

Walk in in jeans and a tee shirt and forget it.

You should as a man wear dress pants and long sleeve shirt and tie. Jacket could be optional.

As a female one should wear business suit or professional skirt and blouse set or a pant suit.

Its always better to be over dressed then under dressed.
Reply:You only have a few chances to impress, use them.
Reply:Dress professionally, but comfortably.

Slacks or a skirt, dress shoes, and a nice shirt/blouse. Save the suit for the interview.
Reply:A nice conservative blouse and slacks would be just fine for the testing.

Avoid jeans, t-shirts, athletic shoes, tight things and cleavage.
Reply:Dress in formal wear. You have to look your best. Speacially during the interview. Remember to give them a good first impression.

How to estimate the size of the market of questionnaires?

This depends entirely on the topic of the questionnaire and HOW and WHERE you will distribute it. Or, how many questionnaires you need for your survey. Always remember that not all questionnaires will be filled and returned. If you need 50 replies, distribute 100, assume that only 50% of the people will return them, if more do then your in luck!

For example if you are at a university and you need 100replies then you hand out to 200 students (or email it to them). If you work in a large store and you need 100 replies, then you choose the departments that have the staff to cover more than 100. If you want to have an open survey, say like in a shopping mall, you should consider being a market researcher at the mall with your questionnaire, and assume the mall has 2000 shoppers per day. Not all of the shoppers will want to answer your questions, so assume that 20% may be prepared to answer, then you could work out how many days you would have to stay there to get all the replies you need.

Good luck

:)

How can you say that it is valid to use questionnaires to measure abstract ideas?

How could you actually consider questionnaires as a valid way to measure abstract ideas such as personality, values and attitudes?

How can you say that it is valid to use questionnaires to measure abstract ideas?
Actually, it is not so easy to measure ones personality, values and attitudes, but, some idea about such qualities can definitely be have by certain tools. Questionnaires are one such tool being adopted by many organizations. Validity or otherwise character of the questionnaire depends on the type/ nature/ length %26amp; width, and relevance of the questions being asked. In case the questions have been framed properly keeping the target public in site, then definetly there is possibility of getting reliable results, and reverse case is also true. One can not be able to hide qualities such as his personality, values and attitudes in case of properly designed questionnaires.
Reply:no. but in order to actually get any type of empirical evidence you can gather answers in an open format, but then record the number of times certain words or phrases appear in those answers. otherwise i feel like giving them multiple guess is like giving them only a set of proper answers. they are forced to make a choice between answers- not tell how they feel. and words int eh possible answers that are given can trigger a person to answer one way or another depending on whether there is a positive or negative connotation, or a certain order to the answers, etc.
Reply:The only it way it could even be remotely valid, is that it is possible that it could be reflection of how the person is at that moment in time during the test taking in regards to that particular question. Personality changes, but it doesn't change at a high velocity. There are general ideas of how a person is "typically" in most circumstances in his or her life, until the person makes a radical shift in perspective. In other words if I asked you "On a normal day, if you had $5 in your pocket, and your friend asked you for $2, would you A. Give the money and request it be returned. B. Give the money and say nothing else. or C. Refuse to give the money because your friend is a lowlife. IF you answere A. I could tell that most generally you are typically frugal and like to give and recieve equally in most things. If you answered B. I could tell that you were more carefree and laid back in most things. If you answered C. I could tell that you were more conceited and self-cenetered in most things. These questions may seem specific on the surface, but actually they are looking for the abstract response in regards to the question.

Questionnaires?

Can anyone tell me where I could find to download questionnaires for tourists and hotels? I am working on a project in College and I could use some help. My subject is

"Questionnaires to find out if tourists are satisfied from the hotels they stayed in and from the place they ' ve visited "

Thank you in advance

Questionnaires?
Look for "comment cards" and "guest surveys". That is what they are typically called. Most hotels have them and you can probably stop by any local to you to get examples. If nothing else calling the central reservation numbers may give you some. Many places now have on line surveys and the central reservation folks may be able to point you to them (or you may even find them on the hotel company's main web site).
