I Signed some Minor papers but i wasnt sworn in Can i change by Military Branch Decision?

I signed some papers for the Army just little questionnaires like have i been arrested and or do i have any medical problems stuff like that. I want to know if i can still change my decision on which branch i wish to join? I haven't been to MEPS for anything but testing cause i live literally like 3 miles away from the place. I havn't signed a contract either and i wasnt sworn in cause technically im still 5 pounds over weight. So can i still politly call my recruiter and tell him thanks for everything but the army isn't right for me now.

Yes, as long as you havent sign the contract, or been sworn in, just tell the recruiter no thanks, and find the branch that suits you.
Reply:Even if you HAVE been sworn in, you can cancel your DEP contract anytime before you actually ship out.

"The Army Recruiting regulations state that recruiters will not threaten, coerce, manipulate, or intimidate DEP members, nor may they obstruct separation requests. (USAREC Reg 601-56, 3-1c). The Navy Regulations state, threatening DEP member with possible disciplinary actions for failing to enlist or coercing DEP members to fulfill their contractual [sic] obligations is inconsistent with the concept of the all-volunteer force (COMNAVCRUITCOMIST 1130.8F, 6A-6, Note 1). The Marines don't have this clear language prohibiting harassment, but do make it clear that the individual can leave the DEP. Their Recruiting Regulations, under Desire for Release or Intent Not to Report state, If the individual insists on being released from the enlistment, the individual will be discharged . (MCO P1100.72C, 4301, 3d(2))."

...And if you haven't even sworn in yet, just tell your recruiter you're not interested.
